Adoption and Fostering

Lately, Chase and I have been talking seriously about adopting/fostering children.  Just as God adopted us into his family, we feel a call to bring children into ours.  So this year we decided to start the training process to begin fostering children.  It will probably take all year just to complete the training, and after that we'll probably start with offering respite care.  However, someday in the future...we want to adopt a sibling group of older children...the children so often over looked by those who want a baby.  God has placed it on our hearts, and I hope you enjoy seeing our journey into this :) There are going to be many challenges and many tears, but with God's help...I think this will be one of the most worthwhile endeavors we will undertake.   We have so much love to share with those children.  We may not be the richest family or have our own house, but we have love in abundance.

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
   is God in his holy dwelling.
 God sets the lonely in families,
   he leads out the prisoners with singing;
   but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.
Psalms 68:5-6

Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
Proverbs 13: 12

My sister and brother in law decided to foster a baby this year. He is the cutest! At first their daughter did not like the idea, but now, since she got to know the foster baby, she asked her parents to adopt him! God makes your heart bigger I think! Patsy from

I somehow lost sight of this aim and had two children, but the desire to foster won't go away. I pray that you receive all the strength you need for the journey ahead and hope that one day I can join you.
