WOYWW 189 - Application To Change Lives

There are no paintbrushes...no paints...no markers on my desk this week. I actually haven't done any art in the new year at all. Instead hubby and I have been working on our fostering application. The licensing class starts at the end of the month, and we have piles of paper work to work through.

You can see the bottom right paper is the master list of what still needs to be done before class.  Today I'm hoping to get my fingerprinting done :)  We're really excited about fostering children.  We hope that we can provide a safe, loving, fun, "normal" home for children for however long they stay with us.  Hopefully we can change some lives for the better...but I know for sure that our lives will be changed through the process.  We both strongly feel that God has called us to take in these children.

About the only thing remotely crafty I've been doing is baking.  I made a baguette :) It kind of looks like a snake that just swallowed something (recipe from Artisan Bread in 5 Minutes a Day).

Peace and Love, y'all.  Check out WOYWW with Julia over at The Stamping Ground

Hi Katie,

Good luck with the fostering application and process! I had an aunt and uncle that fostered kids for years and years.

The bread looks yummy - oh but it does look like a snake that swallowed something!

thanks for coming by my place already.

Happy WOYWW

I think you and your husband are amazing to consider doing this and I hope everything goes smoothly for you both. A litle lack of crafting time is a small price to pay for the difference you will surely make to young lives.

And I'm sure the baguette was yummy!!

I pray you get through all that paperwork. What you are doing is commendable. Someday you will get back to crafting and you will be making things with new little ones.

Sorry I am 2 days late getting to your blog. I have been battling a nasty flu bug.

Good luck and blessing for your application - I am not sharing a desk as away from home looking after my friends cattery but enjoying having a good look around everyone else's desk

my sister is foster parent to a lovely baby boy. he is now 1 year 4 months old and he's been with them since he was 2 months. what a joy he is to all of us and although we want him to go to his adoptive parents as soon as possible we also know we'll miss him so much! when my kids are older and have moved away from home. i'll have more space and would also like to be a foster parent. all the best in your application!
