WOYWW and Close Encounters of the Moosey Kind

WOW!!  I'm actually in town and not completely swamped!  And what do you know...from here on out, Wendesdays are a short day at work :) So maybe I'll get to play more often!   What's on Your Workspace Wednesday is really fun - you can play too if you go to The Stamping Ground.  :)    They are even swapping ATCs this week...but I've had no inspiration for ATCs lately and I'm avoiding mail-art until I get settled at the new house.

This week I have my art journal and an altered book on my desk - along with an assortment of art supplies including isopropyl alcohol and plastic wrap :)

Ugh....and this is what I see if I turn around from my desk.  We'll be moving to a house in 2 weeks - our very first house.  It's going to feel so good moving out of an apartment..  Real job...real house....real bills?  Are we adults yet?.... nah.

Here's the first page of my altered book.    I'm debating if I want to stick with the pink and purple all the way through or not.  It's already starting to drive me nuts so I might add some more warm colors to the subsequent pages.

This is a picture from vacation.  We were just going around a bend on a trail we were hiking when we nearly walked right into this moose.  I'm glad we were paying attention - Moose can be dangerous!   I thought Ellen's expression captured how we all felt.  Of course we were delighted to see such a creature, but all wild animals should be given a great deal of respect ...and distance.

Peace and Love, y'all

I'm just thrilled I was given the chance to "meet" you through this wild and fun blog hop we take each week. I love what you are doing in your AB. Grown up? Maybe, but that photo with the moose is just TOO funny for words. I'm rolling over and laughing and laughing and ... Happy 3rd WOYWW Anniversary from #2.

Great desk, your altered book looks inspiring. I wish I could get my act together to work on one. ATC's I'm not so good at making them, but I gave it a go. My daughter and her soon to be husband are moving from an apartment into a house. She too is so excited. She said it will be odd to be at ground level...Enjoy your move (being settled will be the best part)

Visiting from the AB class...such a sweet first page to your AB!

I'm loving the moose, but you are absolutely right to keep your distance!

I love your pages, Katie! Lovely colours. As for the moose - well, I think I'd probably pull a face like that if I was ever to be confronted with a moose! Hope your house move goes smoothly.

Thanks for your nice comment on my blog - I had a lovely birthday, thank you - day out with my hubby, visiting my friend (her birthday too) and giving her her card and little box I'd made (she loved them!) and then a fabby meal out. So glad you like my latest art work!

Happy belated WOYWW,

Hi there, thanks for visiting! I'm a bit late this week. Wow, a moose on the trail, that's pretty cool! Although here one comes across the odd kangaroo or two ... maybe you would think that was cool? And yes, I'm always taking stuff to do on holidays and most of the time nothing happens, but I wouldn't dream of not taking it.
Happy 3rd Birthday WOYWW!

Love the expression on your friend's face - that is a priceless photo.
I think you should go with a double spread of different colours throughout the journal - that way you can decide on what you like and what you don't. Treat it as a learning curve. Great pages you have done by the way.
Good luck for the move - will be so worth it and congrats on the new 1st house.
Happy Blogaversary - Hugs, Neet #15 xx (late because she had a shed load of visitors yesterday)

I love the expression on your friend's face. Yeah, I don't think I'd want to encounter a moose on my walk either (although, not being in moose country it might be kind of interesting and curious). I love the pink and purple journal pages but I agree that you should branch out into the other colors on other pages otherwise it will be too limiting. I do not envy you of your move-that's such a disruption, but how fun that you'll get a new place! And a house! I laughed at the are we adults? Nah! I keep wondering when I'm going to feel grown up myself.

Good Luck and the best of wishes to you and your partner with your new home. Good to see you have started packing. Leave the art supplies to last minute this way you can play up until then.

Fab photos on your blog - I looked at the more recent post from the Grizzly & Wolf learning centre. Amazing pics, and that wolf one is just brilliant. I like the journal, especially the quote, but go with other colours, live a little....LOL...

Sorry to be so late getting round this week - the Queen's Jubilee got in the way!

Happy WOYWW!
