Girls' Night Out

Friday night!  What's a girl to do?  Well, take an organic test!  Of course.   Because that's how every young lady would like to spend her Friday evening....Dr. Gawley posted the answer key online.  4 questions I deserved to miss, 1 I'm unsure about, and 2 I think he's wrong.  I went back and checked the book.  I am either way beyond confusion, or Dr.Gawley in his old age accidentally wrote E instead of Z and methyl instead of OH.  I'm voting for the later option.  That would bring my grade up to an A or at the minimum a B.  I don’t know exactly what his grading scale is since it’s still “tentative.”  Approxiamately 80% and above is an A.

But after my lovely evening with models and a scantron sheet, I joined with Marlys and Myranda for a lovely night out.  We dined at On the Border and watched The Corpse Bride.  Very fun.  Very fun.

Blessed Be Your Name

Blessed Be Your Name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name

Blessed Be Your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed Be Your name

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be Your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's 'all as it should be'
Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord, blessed be Your name

Stupid horse. I couldn't think of anything else to do... I'm so tired of this project! Notice the shadow... I got lazy. 92% That means I have a 93% in art. I'm certainly not complaining since this teacher actually grades rather than giving students he likes good grades.Posted by Picasa

Super Cool Horse Dude

We had a really cool demonstration today in Equine Behavior and Training.  The horse dude (I forgot his name) haltered a horse that before used to kick at his handler.  He established his dominance and trained the horse to come toward him then back off.  It was really neat!  I was really impressed.  The only problem was that class let out 20 minutes late and I didn’t have time to eat lunch until 2:30.

Guess what today was?

That is correct. It's my birthday. I survived one more year of life. Truly amazing.

Overall I'd say my birthday was very pleasant. A lot of my friends wished me a happy birthday. BUT what really made my day was when the Sigma Phi Lambda girls (both the new pledges and the charter members) sang to me. Jenna even made me a cake! I almost cried; it was so sweet!

Although joining a sorority is something I never in my wildest dreams pictured myself doing, I think I made the right choice. They fill a gap my male, mostly atheist friends can't fill. They are my comforters, supporters, and my sisters - girls I can spiritually develop with. They're the ones who will pick me up if I fall, the ones who will pray for me, and the people I can cry with. I still don't know most of them very well, but it's an opportunity to try to overcome my shyness since they won't reject me. AND it's a way to share Christ.

Stupid horse!!

Haha. I decided to help a friend catch her horse Swayzee (i'm not sure about the spelling, but it sounds like Sway-Zee). We almost had him, and then he decided to run. After about 30 minutes, of trying to get him in a corner and get the lead rope on the halter, Dr. Jack came out an tried to show us a new method. The plan was to make Swayzee run around and work every time he misbehaved (stepped away from Dr. Jack etc) and prevent him from joining the rest of the herd (who were calmly standing in a corner). Theoretically, this is how to train a horse to come to you, because if they start to walk away, you act all scary and chase them away. So they should come to associate not cooperating with having to run like crazy. It was a good plan. It was my job to make sure the horses in the corner stayed in the corner and Swayzee stayed out. An hour and 30 minutes later of "Go away you stupid horse!" and madly waving my hands, I had to leave to go to my next class. Poor Lauren was there from 11:30- 3:00 trying to catch that stupid horse. Haha, in the time i was there, half of my neck sunburned pretty bad. whoops. I'm really glad i put makeup on my face, otherwise it would be burned too.

The result of the Swayzee incident. Happy b-day to me! Posted by Picasa
